Desert Distillate

The Sotol plant, also known as Sereque, grows in the desert of northern Mexico. This plant from the nolinaceae family called Dasylirion grows wild and has been promoted for years, it has long fibrous green leaves. To make our Sotol, we collect plants that are more than 16 years old. The functional part for the preparation of Sotol is the head of the plant, known colloquially as "Piña or Cabeza".

When cooked, fermented and distilled, it will give you herbaceous and citrus notes, gaining recognition among artisanal producers and conquering the most demanding palates.

Generations Creating Sotol

Sotol Oro de Coyame has a long tradition of
more than 150 years, under the care and supervision of the Ruelas Family, where they continue this legacy at the Casa Ruelas Distillery located in Aldama, Chihuahua in Mexico.

Our Sotol has a designation of origin under regulation and production in the Mexican states of Chihuahua, Coahuila and Durango.

Coyame Gold - Young White

Oro de Coyame Joven is a century-old Sotol with a lot of personality, and its complex aromas integrate and remind us of its origin. Our Sotol grows in the mountainous and humid desert of Chihuahua. It is slightly herbaceous, citrusy and with hints of fruits similar to apple and pear. Oro de Coyame Joven has a pleasant, smooth and earthy flavor, which settles with a distinctive aftertaste of minerals, citrus and subtle hints of spice.

We recently won Gold in the 2021 Sip Awards International Spirits Competition, as well as the Innovation Award.
